Anderson Plug
Does your 4x4 vehicle need an Anderson Plug for towing your boat, trailer, or caravan?
An Anderson plug is a heavy-duty connection designed to provide a safe and reliable link from your tow vehicle.
It also provides a reliable connection for accessories such as a portable fridge/freezer, solar panel, or portable dual battery system without rattling loose on rough terrain.
The Anderson plug allows the vehicle battery or alternator to be connected to the auxiliary battery, or charger in the trailer or caravan, to charge the auxiliary battery while the vehicle is driving to its destination. The Anderson connector also allows the vehicle battery to power the electronic stability control system in a trailer and can be used as a 12-volt power replacement for the cigarette lighter socket. At a campground, the Anderson plug allows the solar panel to connect to and charge the battery.
